Team Anna Jan 2 meet deferred
The ailing Anna Hazare has postponed Team Anna’s core committee meeting - scheduled for January 2 and 3, 2012 at Ralegan Siddhi.
The date for the deferred meeting has not been fixed yet. “Core committee meeting scheduled on 2-3 January is postponed due to Annaji’s health… Date of next core committee meeting will be announced after 4-5 days,” Hazare’s close aide Suresh Pathare tweeted on Saturday.
Seventy-four-year-old Hazare returned to his home village of Ralegan Siddhi in western Maharashtra on Thursday morning, after he called off his three-day fast at the MMRDA ground a day earlier.
One of the main reasons attributed to Hazare breaking his fast ahead of the scheduled end was his indisposition. Apart from initially suffering from cold and cough, he had developed viral fever a day before and at state during the fast, he temperature went up 102 degrees Hazare is currently resting at the Padmavati temple complex in his village.
Enthused by the December 29 developments in Rajya Sabha where the Government messed up matters relating to Lokpal Bill, Team Anna wanted to hold its core committee meeting expeditiously so as to make the most of the ruling UPA dispensation’s hour of embarrassment. However, sources close to Hazare said that he did not want to hold any such meeting till he recovered fully from his illness — a fact he conveyed to Team Anna’s core committee members.
Significantly enough, Hazare has not spoken to the media since his return to his village after calling off his fast in Mumbai. Nor has he interacted with the people during the period.
