    V-C visits North Campus colleges

On day one of second semester Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Dinesh Singh visited the colleges in North Campus.

The Vice-Chancellor who went on colleges, including Hindu, Kirori Mal, Ramjas and Daulat Ram, found that except for Daulat Ram, the colleges have not yet created a time table and expect for one or two classes no lectures took place. The VC has given these colleges one week time to put their house in order, failing which the university will take stringent action including stopping the grant

Starting from Hindu College, the VC visited Kirori Mal, Daulat Ram and Ramjas College. In most colleges the teachers were found absent. He interacted with the students of the college. “I will observe the situation in colleges for a week. If these colleges fail to put up the time table and resume classes, the university will take the necessary action,” the Vice Chancellor said.

The Vice-Chancellor’s office is also likely to write to the colleges to put up their monthly attendance on the website. This is an attempt by the university to ensure that both teachers and students attend the lectures.

The VC also said that he was constantly in touch with the students on his mail who kept him updated on what is happening in the colleges. “The students keep me updated on whether the classes take place. Strict actions will be taken against colleges who fail to take classes,” he said.
