    In the sixth successive year, the voluntary organisation Arushi is convening ‘Blind Challenge Car Rally 2012’ in the State capital on Sunday, January 8.

    The blind challenge car rally is an annual feature where the voluntary organisation Arushi tries to generate awareness among the masses regarding the issues concerning persons with visual impairment.

    For last five years Arushi is organising this rally where the vehicle is driven by a sighted person and the navigator is a blind person, who reads the route given to them by Braille. It is a small fun event within the city limits, cars being driven in slow speed. The participants for the rally are from all over Madhya Pradesh.

    The rally will be covering around 30 kms within Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) limits. There are cash prizes and trophies for first three winners. Number of entries is restricted to 40 only. Navigators will be provided by the organisers. Persons interested are requested to collect their entry forms from the office of Arushi, located at 1, Shivaji Nagar, Near Red Cross, Bhopal along with nominal entry fees, copy of car’s registration, insurance papers and participant’s driving license.

    The original car registration, insurance papers and driving license should be in the vehicle during the rally. For any other query, the aspirants may contact at the above given address.

    Last year, the winner driver and navigator were- Ayush Saxena and Geetesh Gehlot (First), Shailendra Bagre and Ashok Soni (Second) and Neeraj Gundegaonkar and Shiv Kumar (Third).
