Five non-Cong parties form Manipur Front
Five non-Congress parties here have formed the People’s Democratic Front (PDF) to fight the forthcoming assembly polls on January 28. The parties are Manipur Peoples Party, National Congress Party, Janata Dal-United, Rashtriya Janata Dal and CPI-M, MPP president Nimaichand Luwang told reporters on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, about 350 companies of para-military forces, including State armed forces, would be deployed for the forthcoming assembly elections, Manipur chief electoral officer said. The notification for the Manipur poll is likely to be issued on Wednesday.
