No retirement for 10 Karnataka HC judges
The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday set aside compulsory retirement orders of 10 High Court judges and directed their reinstatement with consequential service benefits. Hearing the writ petitions filed by the 10 judges, Justice Anand Byrareddy set aside the order of their compulsory retirement passed by former Karnataka Chief Justice PD Dinakaran. On June 23, 2009, then Chief Justice PD Dinakaran had ordered compulsory retirement of 15 judges on grounds that they were “unfit” to hold post.
