R Masood appointed Special CWC Invitee
Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday appointed Rashid Masood as the Special Invitee of the Congress Working Committee.
Masood, who had recently quit the Samajwadi Party and joined the Congress, is also likely to be compensated as the Congress is reportedly considering granting him a nomination to the Rajya Sabha since he had earlier resigned from the Upper House as SP nominee. The Congress feels that Masood’s joining the party will improve its performance in the assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh by attracting voters of the minority community.
