Sonia, PM finalise list for Punjab poll
Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday finalised the list of candidates for Punjab Assembly polls scheduled on January 30 where the party is pitted against the Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP combine. The meeting of the Central Election Committee was attended by senior party leaders like Incharge of Screening Committee and Union Minister CP Joshi, AICC in-charge of Punjab Gulchain Singh Charak and party general Janardhan Dwivedi where the list was given a final touch. The announcement though has not been made.
