Lok Sabha member and chairperson of People For Animals Maneka Gandhi has welcomed the successful relocation of the tusker by the forest department team.
When the Chief Wildlife Warden issued an order to destroy the tusker, Gandhi had made her opposition to the decision known to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Maj Gen (retd) Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri. The order was revised subsequently.
