Gehlot asks Manmohan for rajasthan special status
Rajasthan Government on Sunday demanded a special status for the State because of its geographical situation, perennial droughts and other adverse conditions.
In a meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Chief Minister Gehlot and the Cabinet also pleaded to give special financial package to solve the drinking water of the State.
They also urged the Prime Minister to take an early decision to meet the long standing demand of the State to set up an oil refinery near Barmer, where production of crude oil has already started.
Gehlot also urged the Prime Minister to include the rural housing scheme in MNREGA as it would give boost to provide houses to the poor people in rural Rajasthan.
