Man burns two minor daughters alive; kills self

A 46-year-old man allegedly burnt to death his two minor daughters before setting himself afire in a drunken state at Nellimalam in Kerala's Wayand district. According to police, Benny, a daily wage earner, poured kerosene on his daughters Amaya (3) and Amala (5) and torched them last night. After this, he set himself ablaze. While the younger girl and the man died on the spot, Amala succumbed to burns at the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital, they said. The girl was rushed to the hospital by local people who broke into the house seeing the flames inside.

Neighbours said Benny committed the shocking deed when his wife, along with the third child, had gone to her brothers' home to complain about his "rude" behaviour. They said Benny used to drink heavily and indulge in domestic quarrels frequently.
