Kochi, Oct 29: Kerala Excise Minister K Babu today said that the government would bring in a new legislation to ensure hygiene in the state.
Inaugurating security-hygiene awareness week celebrations here, he said the preparations on the act was progressing. it was likely to be introduced in the current Assembly session or at the earliest.
Pointing out that issue of hygiene and security could not be solved with mere introduction of acts, he said it was not an issue to find solution with introducing an hygiene-security act, he said, adding that the main reason for the failure of many such acts introduced by the state was lack of mass support and cooperation.
Only through proper and strong awareness programmes a permanent solution could be found on the issue, he added.
Stating that the increase of epidemics in the state had always faded the achievements in the health sector, he said people were forgetting to keep the even minimum guidelines in public places.
