Director Shafi's ?Mayavi? has Mammootty playing the title role of a man fighting injustice and is called Mahi alias Mayavi in the film. The film is laced with entertaining and serious moments. Writer-director duo Rafi and Mecartin have done the script of the film. P Rajan produces the film under the banner of Vaisakha films. Alex Paul has provided music for the film and the lyrics have been penned by Vayalar Sarat Chandra Varma.
The shooting of the film is going at a brisk pace currently in Kochi with Sanjeev Shankar as the cameraman of the film. A building in FACT has been turned into a jail. Mammootty is prisoner no. 555 and he is not a criminal in the film but a man who stands every time for justice. He is very popular in the prison among the others prisoners there like Manoj K Jayan who is a bank employee found guilty of fraud, Mamukoya, Keerikkadan Jose, Narayanankutty and Sagar Shiyas. Gopika plays an educated villager and is called Indu in the film. The film also includes big stars like Sai Kumar, Cochin Haneefa, Salim Kumar and KPAC Lalitha.
?Mayavi? is slated to release in the theatres in February.
