Amrita Arora misses the coveted role

Amrita Arora was spotted very excited a few months back when she landed herself in the shoes of veteran actress Saira Banu for the remake of the film ?Victoria No. 203?. Kamal Sadanah launched the remake of his father?s production in which Saira Banu was the lead actress. Ananth Mahadevan was supposed to direct the film. But today Amrita is no more the part of the film. After she bagged the film she also confirmed her dates but she later learnt that she would not be required in the first schedule. She spoke to Sadanah subsequently and opted out of the film.

Mahadevan appeared undiscerning to the whole issue while Sadanah attributed the cause to ?some contractual problems.? Without elaborating further he says, ?Most of the first schedule was shot with Anupam Kher and Om Puri. And the dates are being coordinated depending on those committed by Anupam, Om and Jimmy Shergil. Preeti Jhangiani gets to play an important part, which is not there in the 1972 original. I?m in talks with a couple of actresses for some role and I should be able to confirm one of them in a week or so.? We guess whose loss is it - Amrita or Kamal Sadanah?s?
