Asin is very popular in Andhra too. The wind blowing in from Andhra brings the message that Asin replaces Vidya balan who opted out of the film.
Sanjay Dutt film 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' is being re-made in Telugu. Chiranjeevi acted in the earlier Telugu version of 'Munnabhai MBBS' and he's acting in its sequel too. Titled 'Sankardada Sukindabad,' Vidya Balan was the first choice as heroine. She was the heroine in 'Lage Raho Munnabhai.'
Vidya Balan gives more importance to Hindi film assignments, so when she got offer for a Hindi film, she opted out of 'Sankardada Sukindabad.'
So the producers approached Asin, who is reported to have accepted the offer though she's very busy in Tamil films.
The heroine and hero have been fixed too, but not the director. If the Tamil 'Pokkiri' is a hit, Prabhu Deva is likely to get the assignment. If he does, he's a real lucky guy!
