Trisha is the heroine of Ajith's new Tamil film 'Kireedam'. This one is the remake of a hit Malayalam film by the same name starring Mohanlal in the lead. But it seems Trisha wasn't the first choice. The producer was eager to bring Shreya, the 'Shivaji' girl, in as the heroine.

When asked about it, Trisha said, "I wasn't aware that they were considering her for the role. Even then, I don't see anything wrong with it. People make lots of changes when it comes to films.
"Shreya and I are very good friends. Her mom is a very good friend of my mother. She had acted in the Tamil version of 'Varsham'. We really don't have any problems with such things. She had I had already worked together in a film before. In fact, we're only happy that I had got this project instead of her. "
"I had previously worked with Ajith in 'Ji'. "
"In Tamil, 'Kireedam' will be my first film of the year 2007," she revealed.
