Hiccups in Pokkiri release, Paruthiveeran postponed

trouble with the distributors. Behindwoods has confirmed reports that Pokkiri was not screened today in the following areas: Ambattur, Tambaram, Koyembedu, Kolathur, Poonthamalee. Unconfirmed reports say that one of the theatres has been vandalized by fans for not screening the movie. There were many disappointed fans who had to leave theatres with heavy hearts.




It is said Oscar Ravichandran is trying his best to solve this crisis as early as possible as he is facing a loss of upto 1.5 crores because of this issue. Behindwoods has learnt that it is the same old issue of Aadhi for which Vijay and his father SA Chandrasekar did not compensate the losses suffered by its distributors. After maintaining silence till the last minute, some of the distributors have raised their objection on the screening of the movie and prevented the reel boxes of the movie from reaching some theatres in Chennai city. Although there are efforts being carried out to solve this issue and release the movie as planned, there is good news from other areas of the state. Theatres in Nagercoil had a festive atmosphere and had the first show of Pokkiri at 6:00 AM, with Government permitting theatres to showcase five shows a days for new releases.

Meanwhile another pongal release Paruthiveeran too is facing a crisis. It is learnt that Paruthiveeran has pulled out of the Pongal race. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the losses incurred by Sillunu Oru Kadhal would have prompted this crisis for Paruthiveeran. Remember it is Surya?s brother Karthee who is making his debut in Paruthiveeran. But on the other hand, close associates of Director Ameer say that the movie is still not complete and hence the delay. But there was no information or intimation from the production team in the postponement of the movie until the penultimate day of the release.
