2007 is going to be a crucial year for Mammootty. In a recent interview the actor has said that he has signed enough films to last for the next five years!
Mammoootty has an impressive line up of releases ahead. He completes a film in 45 to 50 days so he can do at least 7 films this year. In 2006 he had just one super hit Thuruppu Gulan while he got critical acclaim for Karuthapakshikal and Palunku.
But the trade was not happy with Mammooty in 2006 as commercially his films were not able to garner the kind of success he had in 2005! Still he is a safe bet as there is no alternative to him and Mohanlal!
For Mammootty this year, much will depend on Shafi?s Maayavi commercial success. His last two releases Karuthapakshikal and Palunku were not commercial hits and Pothenvava was pretty lukewarm.
