Nayantara becomes cautious with the Press

Nayantara has learnt a lot from her bitter encounters with the media. The spectacular end to the rumored romance between Simbu and her did take a toll on her career in Tamil. She is now pretty careful when it comes to interacting with the media.

She says, "Recently, some journalists from a Tamil magazine approached me for an interview. They wanted to know how I feel about some of the rpesent heroines in the industry. They wanted my opinion. Had I wanted to, I could have said lots of positive and negative things about them. It would have made an interesting reading. But I had purposefully refused to answer the question.

"I know that the media would highlight all the negative things that I'd say. It would then look as if I only had bad things to say about others. Most often, such statements would be printed out of context too. Magazines know how to grab their readers' attention. They love bold and controversial quotes.

"I don't want them to have such opportunities at my expense. So I simply kept quiet."

There's another name for such silence- Diplomacy.
