Naming merchandise after stars popular at one particular time is not new to Tamil Nadu, which is famous for blouses and saris named after movies. We have also seen cosmetics named after heroines a practice made popular during the period of Nadiya. Besides, there are shops that sell Kushboo Idlis cashing in on the glamour quotient.
Looks like this time around it is Asin?s turn to grace the eateries. She recently stumbled upon some yummy eatables in a star hotel in Chennai where she enjoyed the Aapam, surprisingly named after her. Flattering, yet tasty and I liked it, confided Asin. To add to the menu, the hotel has dishes named after Asin starrer movies. The popular ones being pokkiri chicken , aalwar aapam, majaa fish fry, annavaram aalu, and sivakaasi jaamun.
Totally bowled over, Asin had her fill before leaving the hotel.
