It is not easy to have leading stars to act together in a movie. Unlike Bollywood, film industries in South have not tried hands at multi starrer movies. "It is very difficult to please all the stars and their fans in a movie having more than one star. The script doesn't allow this to happen." says a film critic.
To break this trend, we have a movie coming up in Malayalam that will feature all the leading stars including Mohanlal, Mammootty, Suresh Gopi, Jayaram, Mukesh and Dileep. It is learnt that the script of the movie is ready and will be directed by leading director Joshi.
"The image of the artists will not be affected by this multi starrer movie" said the director. He also added that this movie will be a feast to the Kerala audience who for the first time will see all their favorite stars together on screen. The production cost would be borne by AMMA (Association of Malayalam movies artists) and actor Dileep.
It is interesting to note that all the Kerala superstars have tried their hands in Tamil movies at some point in their career. Mohanlal, Mammootty, Jayaram and Suresh Gopi would be etched in the minds of Tamil movie fans for their wonderful performance in Iruvar, Thalabathy, Thenali and Dheena respectively. Mukesh had acted in K.Balachander's Kushboo starrer Jathi Malli.
We wish the crew all success and let this movie be the trend setter for many such multi starrer movies to happen in South. If the news going rounds in Kollywood is to be believed, Tamil movie industry is closely having a watch at this movie. A multi-starrer movie in Tamil would be very difficult to happen, the fact that Vikram acknowledges. Vikram had said he would love to be part of such movies involving stars. Will there ever happen a script in Tamil that would accommodate most of our leading stars? Fingers crossed!!
