Gopika is now getting ready to regain her foothold in the Tamil film industry. She will soon begin working with Sundar C, Khushboo's husband, in his new film.
But Gopika will have to live with the fact that she was not the first choice of the director.
Sundar C was very keen on bringing Bhanu in as his heroine. You might remember her as the girl who lands to the vicious rape and prostitution ring in 'Achchan Urangaatha Veedu'. Bhanu only recently made her debut in Tamil with 'Thamarabharani'. Vishaal had played the lead role in it. The film became a big hit at the box office. Unlike his former heroine, Mamta Mohandas, Bhanu is getting flooded with offers these days.
When Sundar C approached her for the role, he was stunned by the kind of money that she demanded for starring in his film. That turned out to be a major discouragement for him. He simply decided to pick Gopika up for the film instead.
Such steep price hikes after just one hit isn't all that good.
