After making her debut in Tamil, Revathy had become a leading heroine in all three south-Indian film industries- Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu. Marriage happened and she took a break for a while only to return after a few years. This time, she was a director.
Most recently, Revathy made an appearance as Amitbah Bachchan's ageing wife in the controversial RGV film 'Nisshabdh', in which he had played the role of a 60-year-old man who falls in love with his daughter's 18-year-old classmate.
Though she had been frequently seen in Malayalam as the hero's mother, it has been a while since she had played a full-length heroine role. That will soon change. She is now returning to Malayalam after a very long time as the heroine of the new film 'Nagaram'. MA Nishad is the film's director.
The film deals with the contemporary problems that our society faces. The director has tried to present it in a lighter vein. He has also confirmed that it is a heroine-oriented subject.
