Based on mother-son affection, the film is the re-make of the Kannada hit 'Yogi.' The important role of Dhanush's mother is played by Archana, a leading actress in Tamil and Telugu as well as Balu Mahendra's favorite heroine.
She was determined not to play mother to young mothers, but the role in 'Parattai?' dissolved that resolve. "It is rare that such a role comes in the career of an actress. The director was convinced that I was suitable to play the character. That's why I accepted. But I will not do any more mother roles in future."
As much as Archana was moved by the character, so have many others. One person is Meera Jasmine. "Seeing her act, I cried," says Meera Jasmine rubbing her tearful eyes.
Before the release of 'Thirumagan,' she fibbed that she was moved by Suryah's acting. That's why we can't completely believe her over this Archana matter!
