We don't know if we should feel bad for her or say that she deserved it. but, Navya Nair had all her hopes pinned on her new film 'Maaya Kannadi'. She was so confident that she refused all the other film offers until this film hit the theatres.

She kept saying that her image would be completely transformed as soon as the film gets released.
The film's producer ran into financial crisis and Navya had to chip in money to complete the film. She had consoled herself by saying that it isn't unusual. It kept running into one delay after the other. There even were talks that the film would never get released.
If this was not bad enough, rumors started that the film's director/hero, Cheran was involved in a romantic relationship with her. Still, she continued.
That was when someone had approached her on behalf of Sathyaraj to be his heroine. Instead of simply refusing, she added that she wouldn't want to be the heroine of actors who are old enough to be her father.
Finally, the film got released and it bombed at the box office. The audience couldn't accept Cheran in a happy and non-weepy role. Many were also convinced that it lacked a strong story.
The film's colossal disaster didn't quite affect Cheran. He is now working with Kamlini Mukherjee (the latest sensation in Tamil) in a new film.
Navya is now left to deal with the outcome of her over-confidence.
