After the critically acclaimed box office hit 'Oru Vadakkan Veeragaatha', Mammooty, Hariharan and MT Vasudevan Nair are reuniting to make 'Pazhasshiraja', the film based on the life of an almost unknown warrior who had waged the first war of independence against the British rulers.
The film's shooting begins today at Neeleshwaram.
Gokulam Gopalan is producing the film on behalf of Shri Gokulam Pictures Private Limited.
The star cast includes Manoj K Jayan, acclaimed Tamil hero Sharat Kumar, Kalabhavan Mani and others. The film has three heroines- Sneha, Padhmapriya and Hollywood actress Linda Arsenio. Sneha is Mammooty's wife. Padhmapriya is a tribal girl. Linda Arsenio is going to play the role of a British woman who sympathizes with the rebel king. Arsenio had recently completed starring with Samuel L Jackson in an English film. There are talks that she had received a heavy payment for the Malayalam film.
This time around, the director intends to shoot the film with a Panavision camera. Previously the camera was used to shoot the big-budget 'Vaishaali', years ago.
