Manirathnam is easily one of the most respected and adored directors in the Indian film industry. Years ago when Suhasini made her entry into films, she was keen on becoming a cinematographer. Fate had different plans.
She became an actress and ended up getting married to Manirathnam.
But, after her marriage, she began to learn a thing or two from her husband about directing and did a fabulous job with her directorial debut film 'Indra'. The film won the Tamilnadu state award for the best film that year.
Now, she is getting ready to return to directing films. Actor/film producer prakashraj has expressed his desire to produce the film. Suhasini has already started to work on the script. Incidentally, Prakashraj's first film as a producer was directed by V Priya, who happens to be an associate of Manirathnam.
