The Tamilnadu Govt., has announced the Kalaimamani award to 60 people and as usual a majority of the awardees are from the film field.
Among actors, the award goes to Simbu, Jayam Ravi, Vishal, Jeeva, comedian Ganja Karuppu and Vineeth. The actresses who get the award are Trisha, Navia Nair, comedian Aarthi and CID Shakuntala.
Directors Bala and Seeman and lyricists Pa Vijay, Na Muthukumar and Kapilan get the award. Music composer Vidyasagar, film producer Kovai Thambi, singers Tippu, Bombay Jayashri, cinematographer Paneerselvam, editor Vittal also get the Kalaimamani.
Writer Vannadasan, poet Kalapriya, artist Trotsky Marudhu are non film personalities to get the award. Writer/dialogue writer Balakumaran also gets the award.
