You could say with a degree of certainty that most people in Bollywood aren't that keen on exploring their acting capabilities. Most of them are in Hindi to make big bucks and fame. There however are some who are more interested in exploring their capabilities.
Vidhya Balan is fast becoming one such actress. The fact that her career has become a big success in spite of the comparative late start only shows that Bollywood still acknowledges talents when it sees it.
She began her career in Hindi with a comedy TV serial called 'Hum Paanch'. But before that, she was rejected by two south Indian filmmakers because "she didn't look stylish and attractive enough". She went on to act in a number of ad films and later made her acting debut with 'Parineetha'.
Rani Mukherjee is the current No 1 in Bollywood. But it looks as if Vidhya Balan is fast catching up. Many say that it is only a matter of time before she overtakes the former.
