Parthiban has proved again that he is a humane guy.
Tomorrow is the 84th birthday of Kalaignar Karunanidhi. Politicians and film personalities are going to visit him in person to wish him. Actor Parthiban wished too in person.
When meeting him, Parthiban gave him 2 petitions. Both do not pertain to him or his field. In the Karur area, women belonging to the Kammaala Nayakar caste, are being used as bonded labourers and objects of pleasure. It is very common to see a 64 year old man marrying a 12 year old or a young man marrying 2 women older than him in order to do housework. Parthiban has handed over a CD as proof to the CM. Importantly, these people have no idea about Aids.
The CM expressed surprise that there is such a village in Tamilnadu. He promised to speak about it to relevant people and has asked Parthiban to meet him on 6th.
On a recent visit to Ooty, the Todas and forest tribes have complained to Parthiban with tears about the indignities they are being subject to, that they are being driven away from their homes and hence have no place to stay. Parthiban handed over the petition given by them to the CM and requested him to take necessary action.
It is definite that the CM would take action in response to the 2 petitions given to him by Parthiban.
Amidst people who meet the CM to save their kalyana mandapams, Parthiban is indeed a man with a difference.
