Actresses who were established in Kodambakkam are now moving towards Mumbai.

The three heroines in the fore front now are Asin, Trisha and Shreya. Asin is acting in the Hindi version of 'Gajini' with Ameer Khan. She has had to forego several offers in Tamil to do this Hindi film. Her 'Dasavatharam' is also to be made in Hindi. She is sure that she will be able to get a firm place in Bollywood with these two movies. She is therefore avoiding Tamil movies now. She has given her call sheet to Hari for his film 'Vel' with the firm condition that it should not interfere with her work on Hindi 'Gajini'.

Trisha is booked in two new Tamil films only. These films directed by Radha Mohan & Dharani are yet to start filming. Meantime, Hindi producer Boni Kapoor is producing "Pokiri' in Hindi with Salman Kahn as the hero & Prabhu Deva as the director. Trisha could be the heroine in this film. Selva Ragavan has asked Trisha if she would be interested in the Hindi remake of '7G Rainbow Colony'. Further, director Priyadarshan has been repeatedly pushing Trisha to enter Bollywood. Trisha has no objection if she gets good offers in Hindi. They say that she has rejected roles in 'Malaikottai', 'Sathyam' based on this expectation.
Shreya has agreed to do 'Azhagiya Thamizh Magan' with Vijay and 'Kandasami' with Vikram, but her attention is on Bollywood. She has already acted in 'Awarapan' with Imran Hashmi. She is hoping to earn a permanent place in Bollywood when this movie is released. Apart from these three, Nayantara, Priya Mani and others are also living in Bollywood dreams. There is a heroine drain in Gollywood.
