An extremely grand function is to take place in Chennai. Prabhu and Ram Kumar are very busy making arrangements for it.
'Chandramukhi' was released 2 years back. A re-make of the Malayalam film 'Manichitrathazh,' it was directed by P Vasu and produced by Prabhu and Ram Kumar for Sivaji Productions.
Rajini's Vettayan image and laka laka lingo went a long way in ensuring the success of the film. The film is still running for one show a day at Shanthi theatre in Chennai.
Till now, the Tamil film that ran for most number of days (770 days) went to 'Haridas.' This record has been broken by 'Chandramukhi' that has been running for 780 days. Prabhu and Ram Kumar have decided to celebrate 800 days of 'Chandramukhi' on a grand scale. In this regard, along with director P Vasu, they personally met the Chief Minister and gifted him a silk shawl.
The 800th day falls on 24th of this month, so the function will take place on 25th. The CM Karunanidhi and Rajini will participate in the function.
Since this is the first time a Tamil film is running in one theatre for 800 days, the Tamil Film Producers Association is to celebrate on a grand scale. A decision will be taken about this today, says P Vasu.
