It is no doubt that 'Sivaji'is a grandiose film and full of many different surprises. Still, one more surprise is the collection of one day for 'Sivaji.'
The distribution rights for Chennai have been bought by Abhirami Ramanathan and GV Films. Till now, a film has been released simultaneously at a maximum of 6 theatres in Chennai, but now 'Sivaji'is being released in 17 theatres.
'Sivaji'is being released tomorrow and advance booking started on 10th itself. On the very first day itself, tickets for a crore and 70 lakhs have been sold, creating a record.
"WE have bought the film for 4 times the normal price given to any film till now. Some asked if the price could be recovered. We only took the number of voters in Chennai into account ? about 60 lakhs. Including children it amounts to about a crore of people," said Abhirami Ramanathan.
"Even if 30 lakh people see the film, we will make a profit. If 15,000 people see one show, it amounts to 60,000 for 4 shows in a day. Tickets have been sold on the Internet like never seen before.
'Sivaji'is being released in 17 theatres with the good intention that everyone in Chennai should be able to see this wonderful film without undergoing any hassles. 'Sivaji'will be running in some theater or other in every area of Chennai.
Since tickets are easily available everywhere, there will be no more pirated VCDs. People would view the film in theatres instead of watching a pirated VCD. Also, people will prefer to watch the film in a theatre than at home. Black market of tickets will also be stopped."
