Kamalini Mukherjee made her impressive debut in Kollywood through Vettaiyadu Vilayadu as Kamal's wife after appearing in a couple of Telugu hits. Her beautiful homely appearance earned her many fans in Tamil Nadu too. After Vettaiyadu Vilayadu she was reported to have signed on the dotted line for Pirivom Sandippom with Cheran as her co-star to be directed by Karu Pazhaniappan.
This film had evinced a lot of interest among movie buffs as it was bringing two talented artists under one project viz Cheran and Karu Pazhaniappan. The photo session of the movie had showcased Kamalini in beautiful shots. However, for reasons unknown, she has been replaced by Sneha. Readers may note that Sneha featured in the director's earlier film Parthiban Kanavu where for the first time she did a double role and was appreciated for her performance.
