Marriage to Grihalakshmi ? first husband testifies!

The Prashant-Grihalakshmi matter is getting more and more complex. When he threw a bombshell that Grihalakshmi was already married and cheated him by hiding this fact and marrying him, the whole matter exploded into the open.

Last evening, Narayanan Venu Prasad turned up at the All Women's Police Station in Mambalam. My law, he is Grihalakshmi's first husband as he has had a registered marriage with her.

He is a Malayali hailing from Trivandrum. Because of his father's work, they moved to Chennai. When Venu Prasad was working in HCL, Grihalakshmi was studying in Stella Maris College. Grihalakshmi's friends' and Venu Prasad's sister were close and these 2 also eventually got close.

Here is what happened in Venu Prasad's own words. "We fell in love at first sight. We were dating from 1996 to 1998. Grihalakshmi said her father would not agree to our marriage, so we had a register marriage on Dec 30, 1998. My friend Sudhir and 3 of his friends gave witness signatures. Though we were married, we did not live together. We lived separately and had no physical relationship."

After that, Grihalakshmi asked Venu Prasad to come to her house and ask her parents formally for her hand in marriage. Only then did he come to know that she was a very rich person. He thought it would be impossible to attain her, so he fell in love with a colleague Leela and married her 2 years back.

Though Venu Prasad and Grihalakshmi did not have any physical relationship, they had a registered marriage and are lawfully married. To have married Prashant without getting divorce from her first husband is a crime by law and not having informed Prashant about it, is an even bigger crime.

Prashant may have a failed marriage, but the case is certainly in his favor!
