The rivalry that started in Tamil is now spreading to Telugu too. Shriya has now replaced Trisha in a new film that will soon be launched.
'Shivaji' is turning out to be a big hit at the box office. Shriya, with her more than liberal policies when it comes to glamour, is fast becoming a very popular actress in Tamil. It looked for a while as if Telugu film industry was immune to her astounding popularity in the neighboring state but it turns out that she wasn't accepting any offer in Telugu simply because she didn't want to have any callsheet problems.
For some time now, director Puri Jagannath was considering Trisha for the heroine role of his new film. The two had started together in 'Varsham' that turned out to be a big hit. But they had also starred in 'Pournami', which turned out to be a big disaster at the box office.
So, there was some hesitation in signing her up.
Guess who steps into her role now? Shriya! 'Shadow' is the likely name of the film. Puri Jagannath will begin the film as soon as 'Chiruta' hits the theatres.
