    The film fraternity shed tears at Jeeva's funeral procession

    Director Jeeva, who passed away in St.Petersburg in Russia, on June 26, was given a tearful farewell yesterday.



    Jeeva's body was flown to Finland and from there it arrived yesterday early morning at Mumbai. To receive the body was director Vasanath, the husband of Jeeva's elder sister. The body was flown by another plane to Chennai, arriving at about 1.30pm. The body was taken to his house in Nungambakkam.


    On seeing the body, Jeeva's wife Anise and his 2 daughters Shana and Aaliya wept in sorrow, moving the hearts of all those present. Jayam Ravi, who had been with Jeeva's body from St.Petersburg till it arrived at Chennai, wept in misery.


    Communist party leader Nallakannu, Ramanarayan, the President of Producers Association, actors Sarath Kumar, Sibi, Surya, Vikram, Parthiban, Jayaram, Jeeva, Prasanna, Livingstone, Prakashraj and others were present to pay homage. Actresses Khushboo, Tabu, Trisha, Lizzie and Lakshmi Rai also paid their tearful homage.


    The most important Indian cinematographers participated in carrying the body to its final rites.



    Senior directors like K Balachander, Mani Ratnam and SA Chandrasekhar, younger directors like Prabhu Solomon, Siva, Vasanthabalan and others were there to pay their tearful anjali.


    Stars like Vikram, Arya and Asin stayed near Jeeva's body. Around 6pm, Jeeva's body was taken to the Royapettah burial ground. Jeeva's wife sobbed uncontrollably and Asin consoled her.


    Jeeva's body was buried amidst tearful farewell from the film world.
