Tamil actor Shrikanth's case suffered a major setback when Madras High Court refused to evict his wife Vandana from his residence.
Vandana had forcibly entered his residence on the 14th of June and has been living there since then. Shrikanth finally had to admit that he had got married to her and is now filing for divorce while she's seeking reconciliation.
The police refused to interfere in the matter because it was a domestic issue between a husband and wife. Shrikanth then approached the court to get her out of the house. The court too has ruled in her favor, stating that as long as the marriage remains, she has all the rights to stay in the marital home. It looks as if she was also cleared of the charges of trespassing.
Shrikanth and his parents are now living in a temporary residence.
A lengthy divorce proceeding is expected now.
