The much awaited 5th film in the Harry Potter series was released yesterday amidst great jubilation from kids and youngsters.
'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' was released yesterday in Chennai. It has caused great stir because after 'Sivaji,' this film has the most reservations in the city's multiplexes. In fact many schools gave strict warning to students that they cannot cut school to go watch the film!
Till now, 'Spiderman 2' has raked in the most earnings on the first day of release. Released in 2004, it made 202 crores on the first day and broke all the previous records.
Now, 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' has made 224 crores and broken the record held by 'Spiderman 2.' This has made Harry Potter fans ecstatic.
But Spiderman fans say that if the earnings of 2004 is compared to the present, Harry Potter profits is not all that greater than Spiderman.
Whatever be the case, Warner Brothers are happy with their overflowing coffers!
