    'RGV Ki Aag' goes cold

Ramgopal Varma ranted and raved about his film for a very long time. The media decided to wait for the film to do the talking. But, it turned out to be all jaded hype and nothing more.

The biggest casualty of the film is Nisha Kothari. Her onscreen chemistry with Ajay Devgan was simply not happening at all. Surprisingly, she had problems with her onscreen chemistry with the hero of her previous film Mohit Ahlawat too.

The film is the remake of the Indian classic 'Sholay'. Ever since the director/producer announced the project, he had been under criticism. His detractors were convinced that he was going to ruin it thoroughly. The film opened to empty theatres all over the country. In Tamil, Urmila Matondkar's pictures appeared more prominently than anybody else's.

The only performance worth mentioning was from Mohanlal, the Malayalam superstar. Amitabh's role as the psychotic gangster was pure exaggeration and sometimes annoying. The film's other pair, Sushmita Sen and Prashant too failed to generate any chemistry whatsoever.
