In the Srikanth-Vanadana case, marriage has become like cricket. There were complications after their first marriage formalities and now they have started their second innings of married life.
Actor Srikanth fell in love with Vandana of Anna Nagar, Chennai, and they had a secret wedding ceremony at Kakinada in Andhra. When the parents to know of this secret marriage, they decided to make it an official wedding.
Srikanth then made a formal announcement of this official date. That time, some police cases came up against Vandana's family members and Srikanth's parents cancelled the wedding preparations.
As a last resort, Vandana landed bag and baggage at Srikanth's house. Following this, both families filed cases against each other in court. It was then that Vanadana revealed the photos of the secret wedding function with Srikanth at Kakinada.
This changed the situation and the respective parents met and came to an understanding. Srikanth also agreed to take back Vandana as his wife. The parents decided to seal this with a formal wedding function. This took place yesterday morning at a prominent star hotel in Nungambakkam, complete with priests, Vedic chanting and other formalities.
Bridegroom Srikanth wore a silk veshti and shirt, bride Vandana wore an arakku color silk sari and matching blouse. Close family members and friends attended the wedding. Amidst confetti and auspicious music, Srikanth tied the mangalsutra for the second time around Vandana's neck. Central minister Subburami Reddy and former central minister Thirunavukkarasar wished them in person.
On the earlier evening, Srikanth threw a party for his friends at a star hotel in Nungambakkam.
The wedding reception took place last evening at a star hotel in Adyar. Chief Minister Karunanidhi's wife Rajathiammal blessed the couple. So did minister Poonkothai.
