Is Dhanush such a Tamil aficionado to actually fast for the cause of Tamil? Nothing could be father from the truth! This is for the film 'Katradhu Thamizh' starring Jeeva and directed by Ram.
This film was originally titled 'Thamizh MA.' Since MA is English, they changed the title to 'Katradhu Thamizh' to be eligible for tax concessions.
This is not the issue. The film will be released soon but the songs have not yet been released. The audio rights for the film have been bought by a Nungambakkam based company, but for some unknown reason, they still have not released the songs.
Because of this, director Ram, music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, heroine Anjali and the unit of 'Katradhu Thamizh' are holding a one day token fast in front of this company. Hero Jeeva's name does not figure in the list.
Even though he is not connected with the film, Dhanush had announced his support by participating in it.
This fast has broken the myth that film people are too spoilt by the good life to get into the streets and protest. It is a personal protest but still deserves to be commended!
