The hilarious making of Ranbir Kapoor’s song ‘Fatafati’ in Barfi!
FATAFATI RANBIR!
You are up to watch the deaf and mute Ranbir Kapoor ‘Barfi’ rapping for the most hilarious song Fatafati. Ranbir recently recorded the special song, which has already started creating ripples on YouTube. So, what does Fatafati mean? Check out this video.
The song is not a part of the storyline of Barfi!, and thus you can see Ranbir Kapoor giving his voice to it. Fatafati is exclusively for the promotional use, but not an item song (as the producers wanted); rather it has come straight from the hearts of the two Bengali men -- director Anurag Basu (concept) and music composer Pritam (execution). In the making of the song, you can sense the excitement of the two. They even convinced the ‘besura’ Ranbir to sing the song. Anurag decided to turn Ranbir a singer because he plays a deaf and mute character in the film. Yes, a paradox!
The word Fatafati means awesome, kickass in Bengali, and the song has lyrics in Hindi, Bengali and English. Its peppy music, taken heavily from Bengali folk, is mixed with the hilarious behind-the-scenes visuals, making it an immensely likeable fun track. It’s a hit all the way!
The best moment of the video comes in the end; it’s when Ranbir Kapoor asks everyone in the studio -- “maine ab tak jo gaya tha sab nonsense tha na? ” -- Pat comes the serious reply from Pritam, “haan”, and then everyone starts laughing.
You better experience the Fatafati song, and don’t miss the antics of Priyanka Chopra, Ileana D'Cruz, Pritam, Anurag Basu and foremost Ranbir Kapoor:
