Top grossing (box office collection) Hollywood films of all time - domestic (US) and worldwide

Everybody knows it's a very vast market, the Hollywood industry. Almost every country in the world gets blockbuster Hollywood movies screened everyday on multiple screens. So huge is their box office collection. Avatar which holds current worldwide ($2.7 billion USD) and US domestic record ($760m) for higher grossing films of all time was released to around 14,604 screen worldwide in 2009 according to screendaily. But I'm not sure how many screen it played in total though and it's worth noting that according to statista there were about 16,383 digital cinema screens worldwide that time. It's possible that Avatar might have played in a large number of traditional film projector screen too. And when it comes to today's recording breaking Hollywood movie Black Panther (2017) you can imagine how many screens it was released to February this year (2018) and the current digital cinema screens total to 155,069, about 10 times more. Black Panther claimed 3rd spot this week in US domestic box-office for all time highest grosser ($665m)


Before Avatar (2009), Titanic held the record for highest grossing films of all time ($2.18 billion worldwide) and there has been big disparity in ticket price and number of screen it was released and all those money value etc. So you will have to see the adjusted to inflation list to see how those collection would be in today's situation.
