Those people who wants meaning ful songs Ilayaraja s always there.kalavadhi kanakileduthu ,njan ilaya rajayude koode nilkkunnu. Karanam , At the age of 11 Rahman joined Ilayaraja's troup as a keyboard player. Appol Ilayaraja guru ayi varumallo ARR nde.
Uhm..nice point BENNY but as a teenager..I would select RAHMAN cause from my birth what I have heard is the Asian Mozart's name..A R RAHMAN..from Roja to Rang De Basanthi..there is no match for him in Indian cinema...When you want a very slow songs he gives it in Taal, when u want the latest raap and western mix..he is there with Boys or RDB..so for me RAHMAN ki Jai..but cant ingnore the genius of Illaraja by any means !
Illayaraja songs are so popular even after so many yrs .... AR Rahman songs are hummable only for a short period....Will anyone want to hear "Urvasi Urvasi" song now? But Illayaraja songs are hummable anytime of your life....But I do like AR Rahman's melodies....and hes good in composing the sad numbers....They are geniuses in their own ways.
