Mammootty and Mohanlal - both are talented.

Mohanlal is more versatlle and a few actors themselves talked about his ability to act in any role.

I am not a fan of anyone..I simply watch movies...

For Amithabh Bachan, he is the finest actor in the country. For RGV, he is the Robert De Niro of Indian Screen. For TIME magazine, he is India's answer to Marlon Brando. For Sunil Shetty, he is the God of Cinema. For Kamal Haasan, he is the most flexible actor in India. For Shaji N Karun, he is the most immensely talented actor. For Priyadarshan, he is the best actor India has ever produced.Manirathnam and Dr.Rajkumar are two frontline fans of this great actor. For all of us he is our "Lalettan".

Introducing the best kept secret of Kerala, MOHANLAL.

He is the common man, he is the superman and sometimes he is everything in between and beyond. The more you try to describe him, the more he becomes indescribable !

                        No comparisons..Laletan Zindabad..He is the best !

Who do u think is the best actor in ukindianukindianukindianukindianukindianukindianuk indianukindianukindian? First of all let me confess that am a die hard fan of mohanlal. Well that doesnt mean am MAD abt him but I like him a loot. Who else have his chammal, nanem, kusruthi & the naturality of his acting..I dont think mammooty have those qualities. Of course mammooty is a good actor no doubt but again mohan lal is the best.

Here are the top 10 scenes of Mohanlal's acting career. All these films are must see films as well. Please respond with what you feel about this.

Kireedam: Climax scene. Sethumadhavan sits near to the wheel of the bullock cart with a knife. The face is a gamut of expressions. Grief-Anger-Despair.

Chithram: Dialogue with the Jail Suprindednt(Sukumaran). "Ippo jeevikkan aagraham thonnithudngiyirikkunnu". Notice the way voice has rendred.

Thalavattam: Null expression when the doctor kills Vinu. Challenge for any actor even the impact for the viewer is not much.

Dasaratham: Climax. Dialog with the nurse(Sukumari) looking at the sunset requesting that can I call you as my mom.

Iruvar: Anandan is with the makup. He is prepared for the scene. Director tells him that no need to act in the scene. Anandan takes the artificial beard from his face and there is a mixture of expressions. Just perfect.

Company: The dialog with Chandu in the hospital at Nairobi. Tight close up. The police officer tries to coach the gangster. The expressions are apt.

Kilukkam: The dialogue with Nischal (Jagathy Sreekumar) telling the fortune Joji got. "I will send you Sngapore dollors". No slapstick. No bafoonery. The comedy is in the normal expressions and voice rendering.

Sadayam: Climax. After killing the girls. Tight closeup. Tears from the eyes. There is an expression of satisfaction dominated by despair.

T.P Balagopalan M.A: The marketing scene of wallpapers. Balagopalan makes the wall of the customer a mess. No voice. Just notice the way the embarassment has expressed. This kind of situations demands good control and timing from the actor. Audience laughs.

Thoovanathumpikal: The moment when he understand that Clara was a virgin. Very much controlled acting again.

My understanding is that mohanlal now commands 80 lacs to 1 crore for a movie where mammooty gets arnd 60 lacs. No one can deny the fact that mohan lal is the most POPULAR actor in kerala. I'm asking dear friends to rein with ur thoughts...die-hard mammooty fans r welcome too...

                          Biju.
thanku for the debate of mohanlal vs mammootty. joy

                            Mohanlal

                            Mamooty has some limitations,
I think Mohanlal is good and complete in acting but should control his size, after all this is his profession, so there is no harm in getting into shape!!..

i am not fan of mammootty n mohanlal.............but u guy's opinions tempting me to say in clear sense....now days mammootty is 75%betterthan wat mohanlal does in acting...........he was a good actor for a couple of years ago,,but now he cannot maintain his skills of acting like in the olden days he did.............if you check recent years movies of lal n mammootty ,,,the more acting skills was performed by mammootty....vadakkumnadan is an exception for lal............if the actor was in hollywood many years ago he wud have been thrown out frm the film industry .......n mammootty also..........there was a golden stage for mammootty n lal,but our superstar actors are not good enough to satisfy our audience.....i know there are some die hard lal fans who always like to be follow his styles .....i like mohanlal morethan i like mammootty........i know lal has more audience power than mammookka ,but our 90%audience cud not cope with the fact wat is going on , we r still holding on our olden movies n some nostaligic feelings .......some blind people call zindabad and make fans association to lal n mammootty, these people are curse of those two stars.....we need some fresh ones to carry on our mala.film industry,,,,these stars r getting older day by day.............but unfortunately there is none i see like lal and mammootty............

Sumit why u are presenting Lal so cool. Let him be active. Change the picture.

Both of them are talented. Lal cannot do the role of Mamooty and Mamooty cannot do Lal's role. Both have there own characters that no one can compare. One should think why I love them? Can Lal do Rajamanikam, can Mamooty do Thalavattam.

Both of there are great superstars in our God's own country.
