i must congratulate you for ur research and knowledge on mamooty & his skills. but your comparing skills were very poor. parayathe vayya. do any serious cinema critic judge actors by their looks? if looking chullan was the criteria the best actor in india would be sallu or amir khan....pinney dialogue delivery doesnt mean one have to deliver it in 5000 watts. what is impo is it's timing. in dialogue delivery both mohanlal & mamooty are kidillan. pinney i think wut u meant to say is mammooty's voice has more manhood than mohanlal's...yea earlier even i used to think so but after movies like devasuram, aaram thampuran, narasimham i beg to differ. just compare mamootys valiyettan with mohanlals narasimham...compare cuz both are in same genre ones...mammooty just sucks in valiyettan...mohanlal proved his ability in action role with rajavinte makan when he was just 26...even @ 53 mammootykke ithu vare cheyyan pattiyo a role like that? ini para mamooty evide kidekkunnu mohanlal evide? hehhe

pinney in dancing mammooty looks fake...he just don't know what he is doing...rajamanikyam movie was a hit mainly cuz the parassala (trivandrum)accent of the character...can u imagine comparing mohanlal's kilukkam, chitram with rajamanikyam? hehe...kochey enne chirippikkalley ketto hehe...before rajamanikyam mamootys biggest hit was hitler (1996)...do u want a list of mohanlal hits? u dont want na...cuz u know who have more hits enna fact...there is a total fallacy that mammooty is popular than mohanlal in the malabar area...i can assure that the only place he is more popular than mohanlal is malappuram & in some areas of kozhikode plus dubai...

we are comparing them because this thread is debate.JESS...I think lal is good ..he dance well ..than mammooty....lal well on comedy roles..but mammooty not...he try to do the comedy role..it always gone wild....haa....I am not blame mammoty..but he has some specialites....anyway I like lal....

They both are talented, but i feel Mohanlal is getting a bit boring now a days ....

i think different people have different talents so we can't judge them with other people mohanlal is a good acter so as mammotty. But it doesn't matter some people like mohanlal and some like mammoty.

Both lal and mamooty are masters in their own respect

lal cannot do some of the more serious roles that mamooty has perfected over the years.

similarly, mamooty cannot match up to the versatillity in acting styles of lal.

verdict : 50-50.

p.s. : i admire lals acting prowess a little above that of mamooty !

Well same here I am a die hard fan of Mohan lal. He is versatile according to me. He has good acting skills. Some of his earlier movies like Kamala dalam where he was a dancer, lal salam as a aspiring communist party person, Thalavattam to even the recent Thanmatra he is the best.

Mamooty also has some nice movies, but I feel he can be good only in movies like Kazcha, Vesham, King, etc. Sorry if i have hurt some ones sentiments.

they both r truly amazingly talented actors.. bt honestly i do feel dat mohanlal is a bit 2 old 2 tak on hero roles..on the other hand yup.. i kno mamooty is old 2..bt he dosent LOOK old!! dats my point...mohanlal if he needs 2 stay in the cinema feild 4 lng..he needs 2 maintain his body shape nd stuff..k am nt being rude.. bt its a fact.. all gd actors shud hav a nyc appearence nd mamooty has gt it..atleast hes gt it more dan mohanlal..bt surely in acting..mohanlal is da best!! ooh nd i strongly oppose the thought of him and momooty acting with heroins dat r lyk waaayy yunger dan dem..seriously it dosent luk gd 4 them at all!!
