1/4 pound of ground beef
1 tablespoon of butter
1 small can sliced mushrooms (4 oz. drained)
2 slices of Swiss cheese
1 Kaiser roll or two slices of bread
Heat a non-stick frying pan and slowly melt butter. While the butter is melting, form the ground beef into a large patty as thick or thin as you want. Fry your burger to desired doneness. You can tell how done it is by cutting a small slice about halfway through and slightly separating the meat. When it's done, (no longer pink) turn the heat down slightly, drain the grease and return the burger to the pan. Layer the meat with as many mushrooms as will fit on top of it. Lay the slice of cheese over top of the mushrooms. Cover and let burger heat until the cheese is melted. It shouldn't take too long so don't walk too far away. When the cheese is melted, stick it on your bun or bread and its yours to dress as you please. Ketchup, mayo, salsa, you know... (You can also toast your roll by spreading some butter on the insides of the bun and laying butter side down in frying pan and heating over medium heat till toasted.)
