Mysore Rasam
Ingredients
Tomato : 2 ripe and diced
Corriander seeds : 1tsp
Toor daal :1 tbsp
Red Chillies : 3-5
Jeera (cumin) seeds : 1 tsp
peppercorns : 1 tsp ( add more to make rasam more spicy)
Coconut : 4-5 pieces
Salt : to taste
Tamarind : to taste
asafoetida : pinch
Turmeric : 1/4 sp.
Cilantro to garnish
Recipe Method
Roast toor dal, corriander seeds, Red chillies and pepper corn with a little oil.Make a fine powder of the roasted ingredients and coconut.
In tamarind water add tomatoes, turmeric powder ,asafoetida, salt and the powder made. Allow this to boil until tomatoes are well cooked. Then dilute rasam to desired consistency and add cilantro for garnishing.
