SWEET AND KARA MURUKKU
I will start this section with one of the Palakkadan speciality "MANOHARAM". Its a sweet and Boodhi like thing. Easy to make too
kadala mavu 1 cup
jaggery/sugar 3/4 cup
rice flour 1/4 cup
cardamom pwdr 1 teaspoon
chopped "kopra" 1/2 cup
mix kadala mavu, rice flour and a pinch of salt together. add enough water to get a batter of pouring consistency. Heat oil in a kadai, using a boodhi laddle make boodhis with the batter. fry till crispy. let it cool . heat another kadai with sugar or jaggery with a little water to make syrup ( like burfi syrup consistency). turn off the stove, add chopped "kopra" , cardamom pwder and all the boondhis. Nalla pooley elakkuka. boondhi thammil vallathey ottathey nookkanam.
