
Seven people have been injured, two critically, in a stabbing in Drogheda near the Irish border in County Louth.Police were called about a disturbance outside a pub on Laurance's Street in the town shortly before 0030 BST.
A 17-year-old boy who was believed to have been involved in the disturbance fled the scene and ran to West Street.
There he confronted a group of men, who weren't involved in the other incident, and attacked them with a knife. The youth was arrested at the scene.
The men - aged between 16 and 38 - were brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.
